Job Overview: The Cashier is responsible for checking out all customers accurately while maintaining a safe cash register Duties and Responsibilities: - Ensure following the Six Steps Customer Service process - Assist in registering customers in the loyalty program - Maintain sufficient amounts of change in cash drawer and ensure floats are correct - Handle customer complaints in the first instance and report feedback to Superior - Ensure all items/purchases are scanned properly into cash register to calculate total purchase price - Accept all payment methods; complete check and bankcard transactions according to established procedure - Count money properly and carefully by making sure the money collected is not fake, and give change and issue receipt for funds received - Ensure money collected is not fake - Report to superior any method of payment that requests the customer identification as per procedure - Inform customers on promotions and special events - Stay aware of all security issues by being alert and vigilant at all times - Assist in the proper cashier closing and reporting at the end of the shift according to established procedure - Keep register area neat and stocked with necessary supplies - Maintain cleanliness of equipment, tables and utensils and safe working environment by adhering to the company policies and procedures and report malfunctions to Superior
